LIVE Event Held In Virtual Kensington W8 London
About FOTE09 Virtual
Virtually-Linked screened FOTE09 from the Royal Geographical Society's Ondaatje Theatre into an interactive environment inside Second Life. Here many more participants were able to attend.
Virtually-Linked created a theatre to maintain the atmosphere achieved in the venue.
This was shown as a live screening and ran concurrently with the event in Kensington. The event was live inside the virtual theatre as if you were a participant at that real event. Attendees were joined by their peers inside the virtual theatre, where they interacted and shared their experience.
This was an opportunity to be at the event and participate even if you could not get to the venue. As a case study, it is cost efficient and also kinder to the planet. We appreciate the concerns of FOTE09 to want to bring this event to you though still keep down costs and take care of the planet.
This event was fully subscribed and took place virtually in 3D on Friday October 2nd 2009 from 9.30am to 5.00pm GMT.
In Second Life we stream livecasts of events to virtual Kensington for those who are unable to attend their real equivalent, either because of ticket availability, other commitments or geographical location. Wherever you are in the world, you can come too.
